Hotta Cableway

The Hotta Cableway was invented by a Japanese engineer—Soyata Hotta(崛田蘇彌太). He ingeniously utilized the accelerating force, generated from the gap between the sending point and catching point, to move the upward and downward cable lines simultaneously. By this new invention, the burdensome operation of loading and unloading logs repeatedly could be largely simplified and hence improved the efficiency and hugely reduced the cost of transportation of logs.
